Flying Officer (Squadron Navigation Officer) Robert Cyril Hodgson completed 22 operations serving with 408 (Goose) Squadron in Hampden and Manchester bombers. He was presumed killed in action on the night of 12/13 August 1942 when his Hampden failed to return from a bombing raid on the town of Mainz, Germany. Sold with copies of Squadron Operational Record Book regarding all his operational flying. In the summary of the operation of 12/13 August 1942 Hodgson is described as ‘one of the oldest members of this Squadron.’
