Lieutenant J. Girvan was commissioned into the 5th battalion Highland Light Infantry on 1 July 1917.
Lance Corporal James Graham Girvan was born in Langside Glasgow, he was killed in action France and Flanders 4 March 1915 whilst serving with the 5th battalion, Scottish Rifles.
