After service in the Crimea as part of the ‘Thin Red Line’, James Hanny served in the Indian Mutiny and was severely wounded at the capture of the Secundra Bagh, Lucknow, on 16 November 1857. Sold with a copy of the medal roll confirming entitlement to the Balaklava clasp.
