Deutsch-Ostaffikanische Bank, German East Africa, 500 Rupien , 2 September 1912, serial number 00275, brown on pale blue, Kaiser Wilhelm II at right, reverse blue and brown, ornate design, still retaining strong paper quality, original about very fine, a superb example of the highest denomination issued for German East Africa, a very striking design, and only 696 were issued, making this an exceptionally rare and desirable note.
