Annie Dingwall Flowerday was born in Montreal, Canada, on 10 January 1913, and joined the British Red Cross Society in about 1930. She joined the Royal Naval Hospital at Kingseat on 22 September 1939, and during the war served also at R.N.A.S. Crail, R.N.H. Durban, South Africa, and R.N.H. Haslar. She was promoted to Head V.A.D. (R.N.) in April 1948 and continued to serve in the Q.A.R.N.N.S. until January 1962 when she was released from the service. She was awarded the L.S. & G.C. medal on 1 February 1960.
Sold with original Q.A.R.N.N.S. Certificate of Service and other original documents including Sick Berth Rating’s History Sheet, B.R.C.S. Identity Card and various B.R.C.S. proficiency and instructor’s certificates, and two photographs.
