General Service 1962-2007, 1 clasp, South Arabia (Capt. D. G. Swan. QDG.) nearly extremely fine £140-£180

Donald Gordon Swan was born in London on 12 March 1939, the son of Lieutenant-Colonel C. F. T. Swan, Rifle Brigade, and the grandson of Lieutenant-Colonel C. A. Swan, Lincolnshire Regiment. After attending Sandhurst he was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the Queen’s Dragoon Guards in 1959. Promoted Lieutenant in 1961 he served in 1963 with “H.Q.” Squadron and R.A.C. Gunnery School 1964-65. Promoted Captain in 1965, he was Second-in-command of “H.Q.” Squadron in Aden in 1966-67 and retired with a gratuity in 1967.
