Royal Navy L.S. & G.C., V.R., narrow suspension (G. F. Perry, Ch. Sto., H.M.S. Excellent) edge nicks and light contact marks, very fine £70-£90

George Frederick Perry was born in Landport, Hampshire, on 7 April 1869, and joined the Royal Navy as a Stoker 2nd Class on 26 September 1887. He transferred to H.M.S. Excellent on 21 May 1901, and was advanced Chief Stoker on 5 July of that year. He was awarded his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal on 29 October 1902, and was shore pensioned on 8 October 1909. He subsequently joined the Royal Fleet Reserve at Portsmouth the following day, and saw service during the Great War.
