Royal Navy L.S. & G.C., V.R., narrow suspension (Hy. Winser, Carpts. Mte: H.M.S. Swift.) minor contact marks, otherwise nearly extremely fine £70-£90

Henry Winser was born in Danbury, near Newton, Devon, on 14 October 1850, and joined the Royal Navy as a Boy 2nd Class on 13 January 1866. Posted to H.M.S. Impregnable, he was advanced Carpenter’s Crew 2nd Class on on 1 December 1868, and served in a variety of ships, being advanced Carpenter’s Mate on 8 June 1877, whilst serving in H.M.S. Achilles. He joined H.M.S. Swift on 1 May 1886, and was awarded his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal on 25 August 1887, shortly before being shore pensioned on 31 December 1888.
