India General Service 1854-95, 2 clasps, Burma 1889-92, N.E. Frontier 1891 (3455 Pte. S. Morgan 4th. Bn. K.R. Rif. C.) good very fine £240-£280

One of only 25 medals with this clasp combination to the 4th Battalion King’s Royal Rifle Corps.

Sidney Morgan was born in Chipping Sodbury, Gloucestershire, and attested for the King’s Royal Rifle Corps at Bristol on 6 March 1886. Proceeding to India on 18 October 1889, he served with the 4th Battalion on the North West Frontier of India with the Tamu Column between 18 April and 7 May 1891, and in Burma with the Baungshe Column between 25 December 1891 and 29 February 1892. He returned home on 6 December 1892, and transferred to the Army Reserve on 6 March 1893. He was discharged on 5 March 1898, after 12 years’ service.
