A Major General’s Full Dress Epaulettes and Corresponding Cap Badge (QEC), a Pair of Gilt Brass Cross Sword and Baton Rank Badges, the epaulettes of standard gold cord pattern embellished with embroidered silver crossed sword and baton and single Bath pattern star, the cap badge comprises laurels, the Royal Crest and crossed sword and baton; together with a silver coloured whistle guard in the form of a cross, a crowned rose and laurels (lacking screw post fasteners and attachment for whistle chains), a hall marked silver gilt and enamelled brooch (Birmingham 1899 by W.J.D.) relating to the Cape Volunteer Engineers, it displays the first pattern Imperial Crown over the arms and motto of Cape Town (lacking fastener), one only collar in silver plate of the Natal Royal Rifles, one only collar for the Army Service Corps in silver plate gilt and enamels (later fitted for a brooch this now missing) and a single collar in bronze to the Leinster Regiment, a decorative brooch in the form of a swept-hilt rapier, good overall condition (11) £80-£120
