Naval General Service 1793-1840, 1 clasp, Lissa (John Bushell.) nearly extremely fine £2,800-£3,200

Confirmed on the rolls as a Landsman aboard H.M.S.
Cerberus at Lissa.

John Bushell was born in Norwich, circa 1792. He first entered the Navy aboard Roebuck but borne in Valorous, which ship he entered on 15 April 1807 as a Boy and took part in the expedition to Copenhagen that same year. He next served aboard Zebra from 18 November 1807 until 21 February 1809, when he joined Cerberus as a Landsman and was present in the action off Lissa on 13 March 1811. He was invalided out from Cerberus, and the Navy, on 11 May 1811.
