James Jagger was in Atherton, Lancashire, and served during the Great War with the 9th (Service) Battalion, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. He died of wounds on the Western Front, 7 June 1917, and is buried in Westhof Farm Cemetery, West Vlaanderen, Belgium.
