Pair: Ship’s Corporal Daniel Bailey, Royal Navy

Crimea 1854-56, 1 clasp, Sebastopol (Danl. Bailey. Ship’s Corpl.) officially impressed naming; Turkish Crimea 1855, Sardinian issue (Danl. Bailey) both fitted with contemporary silver ribbon brooches, toned, good very fine (2) £180-£220

Confirmed on the roll as a Ship’s Corporal aboard H.M.S. London, one of the few ship’s to receive officially impressed Crimea medals.

Daniel Bailey was born at Berwick upon Tweed on 29 May 1814, and entered the Navy as a Boy 1st class in April 1831 aboard St Vincent. He joined H.M.S. London as a Captain of the Mast on 9 March 1852, and as Ship’s Corporal from 30 January 1855 to 26 January 1856. He left the Navy in June 1863. Sold with full record of service.
