K. L. U. Corps initially served as a Signalman in the Royal Navy, before receiving a temporary commission in the Sea Cadet Corps.

Sold with: Lieutenant (SCC) R.N.R. shoulder insignia; Admiralty letter informing recipient of his commission as Temporary Sub Lieutenant (SCC) R.N.R., dated 29 May 1962; another letter to the same effect appointing him as Lieutenant (SCC) R.N.R.; two photographs of recipient in later life.
