Royal Victorian Medal, G.V.R., silver, unnamed as issued; Jubilee 1887, bronze, with 1897 clasp; Coronation 1902, bronze; Coronation 1911; Royal Household Faithful Service Medal, G.V.R., 1st issue, suspension dated ‘1910-1930’ (E. Hammett.); Romania, Kingdom, Faithful Service Medal, 1st type, Second Class, silver (Edward H. Hammett.) mounted court-style as worn, and housed in an Ortner & Houle, London, case, suspension repaired on Royal Household Faithful Service Medal, minor edge bruise to last, lacquered, good very fine and better (7) £400-£500

Edward Hayman Hammett served as Page of the Chambers, and was awarded the Royal Victorian Medal on 1 January 1917. His son, Lance-Corporal Edward Hammett, Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry, was killed in action during the Great War on the Western Front on 31 July 1915, and is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium.
