Seymour Francis Colin Tyers Tyers was born in January 1887, and entered the Royal Navy as a Midshipman in January 1906. He advanced to Paymaster Sub-Lieutenant in January 1908, and to Paymaster Lieutenant in January 1910. Tyers Great War service included with H.M. Ships Gloucester and Defence, 1915-1917, during which time he was present with Gloucester at the Battle of Jutland. Tyers was promoted Paymaster Lieutenant-Commander in January 1918, and retired as Paymaster Captain in January 1937.

Ronald Francis Tyers Tyers was born in November 1916, and was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the Indian Army in August 1936. He served with the Scinde Horse on the North West Frontier, and during the Second War. Tyers advanced to Captain in August 1944, and transferred to the 14/20th Hussars, R.A.C., in November 1947. He was advanced to temporary Lieutenant-Colonel in August 1949, and served with the 7th Gurkha Rifles from February 1952. Tyers retired, with the rank of Major, in April 1958.
