Edwin Coysh was born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and attested there alongside his brother William E. Coysh for the London Regiment. He served with the 14th (London Scottish) Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front, and died on 22 December 1916. He is buried in Bois-Guillaume Communal Cemetery, France.
