[sic] R.A.F.); Defence and War Medals 1939-45; General Service 1918-62, 1 clasp, Malaya, E.II.R. (Wg. Cdr. F. A. A. H. Agar-Strath. R.A.F.); Coronation 1937, engraved ‘F/Lt. F. A. A. H. Strath. R.A.F.’, mounted as originally worn, generally very fine (6) £300-£400

Frederick Arthur Agar Hawker Agar-Strath initially served as a Pilot Officer with the Royal Air Force, before advancing to Flying Officer in August 1932. He served on the North West Frontier in 1935, and subsequently advanced to Flight Lieutenant. Agar-Strath served with 24 (Communications) Squadron prior to transferring to the Equipment Branch in September 1938. He advanced to Squadron Leader in January 1940, changed his surname from Strath to Agar-Strath, and advanced to Temporary Wing Commander in September 1941. Agar-Strath was promoted Wing Commander in January 1950, and retired in April 1958.
