India General Service 1908-35, 1 clasp, North West Frontier 1908 (Capt. J. L. Lunham, I.M.S.); 1914-15 Star (Major J. L. Lunham, I.M.S.); British War and Victory Medals (Lt. Col. J. L. Lunham); Delhi Durbar 1911, unnamed as issued, mounted as worn and housed in a fitted glazed display case, suspension detached from last, minor edge bruising, good very fine (5) £400-£500

John Lumsden Lunham was born on 10 March 1879 and was educated at the Royal University, Ireland. He entered the Indian Medical Service as a Lieutenant in 1902 and was promoted Captain in 1905. In 1908 he served on the North West Frontier, being present at the action at Kanga. Appointed a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in India in 1913, he was promoted Major in 1914, and served during the Great War in India, and then on the Western Front from 1917. For his services during the Great War he was awarded the Brevet of Lieutenant-Colonel in June 1919, and was promoted to that rank in 1922.
