Ian Robert Lennox Fraser was born in July 1899. He served in the ranks for 1 year and 178 days before being commissioned Second Lieutenant in the Seaforth Highlanders in December 1920. He advanced to Captain in April 1929, and to Major in August 1938. Fraser served with the Regiment during the Second War and was taken prisoner of war. He was imprisoned at Oflag Spangenburg bei Kassel, Germany. Fraser retired in July 1947.
