William Brown attested for the Scottish Rifles at Glasgow, and served with the 9th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front. He was killed in action on 22 March 1918. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial, France.

Robert Richards was born in Burnley, Lancashire, and attested for the Scottish Rifles at Nelson, Lancashire. He served with the 10th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front, and was killed in action on 25 September 1915. He has no known grave, and is commemorated on the Loos Memorial, France.
