These monumental directories were first published in 1864 for Bengal and then for the whole country from 1885 to 1960, and are a combination of almanac and civilian equivalent of the Army List. They contain a vast amount of information, not least on hundreds of European residents (alphabetically listed). This edition from the year of the Delhi Durbar.
