A German Second World War Allgemeine S.S. Other Ranks Visor Cap. A nice condition size 54 Allgemeine SS visor cap, constructed in the classic ribbed material, white waffenfarbe, original single central buckle chinstrap, standard visor with some crazing to the visor. A matching set of original SS insignia, however the subdued silver insignia on this cap would normally be found on the Waffen SS cap not Allgemeine SS and this should have the frosted plated Allgemeine insignia. To the interior all correct markings with the rubber ink stamped ‘RZM SS’ inside the visor, an ersatz paper substitute sweatband intact, brushed cotton upper inner side lining with a cream silk crown lining, which has stained somewhat. Complete with its correct gold blocked SS runes within a circle below the undamaged central lozenge and complete with its black and white printed Tuchmutze for SS issue label underneath the central sweatband, good condition £1,400-£1,800
