Robert Joseph Drummond was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the Royal Fusiliers on 1 July 1945. He transferred to the Worcestershire Regiment, with the rank of Lieutenant, on 1 October 1946, and was promoted Captain on 1 July 1951, and Major on 1 July 1958. He relinquished his commission and was granted the honorary rank of Major on 28 February 1962, but was deprived of his honorary rank of Major on 31 March 1967 on conviction by the Civil Power.
