M.I.D. London Gazette 29 August 1944: ‘For gallant and distinguished services in Italy.’

Served with 1/Green Howards with the B.E.F. in France, Norway, Iraq, Persia, Egypt, Syria, Sicily, Italy and North-West Europe. As part of the 15th Infantry Brigade the 1/Green Howards served with the 6th Airborne Division with distinction after the Rhine Crossing to the Baltic Coast, culminating with the meeting of the Russian forces at Wismar.
