Three: Lance-Corporal A. S. Reid, 4th South African Infantry, late South African Irish Regiment, who was wounded in action on the Western Front on 22 October 1917, and was taken Prisoner of War at Marriers Wood during the German Spring Offensive on 24 March 1918

Adam Smith Reid served during the Great War initially with the South African Irish Regiment in German South West Africa, before attesting for the South African Overseas Expeditionary Force. He served with the 4th South African Infantry on the Western Front, was wounded on 22 October 1917, was promoted Lance-Corporal on 4 March 1918, and was taken Prisoner of War at Marriers Wood, during the German Spring Offensive, on 24 March 1918. He was repatriated following the cessation of hostilities on 25 November 1918, and was discharged on 26 March 1919.
