Four: Captain William Way, M.V.O., Royal Navy

Coronation 1902, silver; Ashantee 1873-74, no clasp (Navg. Sub. Lt. W. Way. R.N. H.M.S. Himalaya. 73-74); Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, dated reverse, 1 clasp, Suakin 1884 (Navg. Lieut: W. Way. R.N. H.M.S. “Orontes”) clasp loose as issued; Khedive's Star 1882, mounted for display, some very light pitting from star, otherwise good very fine (4) £600-£700

William Way was Navigating Lieutenant aboard the Himalaya in the Ashantee campaign and held the same position aboard the Orontes in the Egypt campaign of 1882. He later served in the military operations near Suakin during 1884. He was awarded the M.V.O. in August 1903 as Commander of H.M.S. Vivid during King Edward VII’s visit to Ireland.
