Henry Edgington served with the Army Service Corps in France and Belgium from 4 November 1914 to 14 September 1915, and from 1 April 1916 to 11 November 1918. He ended the war as a temporary Major, was mentioned in despatches (London Gazette 30 December 1918 and 10 July 1919) and awarded the O.B.E.
