Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 3 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal (29814 Pte. C. E. Wilson. 51st. Coy. Imp: Yeo:) good very fine £80-£120

Charles Edward Wilson was born in Clapham, Surrey, in 1870, and attested for the Imperial Yeomanry at Marlborough Street Police Court, London on 25 February 1901, having previously served in the 3rd (Militia) Battalion, Queen’s Royal West Surrey Regiment. He served with the 51st (Paget’s Horse) Company, 12th Battalion Imperial Yeomanry in South Africa during the Boer War from 18 March 1901 to 4 August 1902 (additionally entitled to the South Africa 1901 and South Africa 1902 date clasps), and was discharged at Aldershot on 11 August 1902, after 1 year and 168 days’ service.
