Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, undated reverse, 1 clasp, Suakin 1885 (C. Denton, Gnr. R.M.A.) good very fine £140-£180

C. Denton was born in Brightside, Sheffield, in October 1863. He attested as a Private in the Royal Marine Light Infantry at Walmer in September 1882. Denton became a Gunner in the R.M.A. on 24 August 1883, and a member of the R.M. Battalion, Egypt, from 7 June 1884 until 7 July 1885. He later served with H.M.S. Satellite (1886-87) and H.M.S. Orontes (1888), being invalided from the Corps, 11 April 1888, only to die on 18 May 1888.
