Indian Mutiny 1857-59, 1 clasp, Central India (Corpl. Peter Tainch, 72nd Highlanders) edge bruising and contact marks, therefore good fine £180-£220

Peter Tainch was born in the Parish of Wilsyth, Stirling, and attested for the 72nd Highlanders on 6 March 1854, and served in the Crimea during the latter stages of the war (Medal without Clasp and Turkish medal). After further service in Central India during the Indian Mutiny, he transferred to the Bombay Artillery on 10 September 1859, and to the Royal Artillery on 8 May 1861. He was discharged in the rank of Gunner at Kamptee on 22 October 1875. Sold with copied discharge papers and medal roll extracts.
