Indian Mutiny 1857-59, 1 clasp, Delhi (Josh. Swain, 75th Regt.) attempt to obliterate name but still clearly legible, otherwise nearly very fine £220-£260

Provenance: Dix Noonan Webb, June 1997.

Joseph Swain initially served with the 73rd Foot. He served with the 75th Foot during the Indian Mutiny, and was severely wounded in the right arm in the main assault at Delhi, 14 September 1857. Swain was invalided to Europe and discharged to pension.
