Walter Buck was born in Eye, Suffolk, and attested for the Suffolk Regiment in 1893 (awarded the L.S. & G.C. in 1913). He transferred to the Military Foot Police in December 1908, and was discharged, 16 April 1912.

Buck re-engaged for service with the Military Foot Police, 13 September 1914, and served with the M.F.P. in the French theatre of war from 26 May 1916. He advanced to Temporary Sergeant in September 1918, and transferred to the Army Reserve in June 1919.

Sold with a Military Police Record Office registered envelope addressed to ‘Mr. W. Buck, Pluckley, near Ashton, Kent.’
