A Great War 1917 ‘Western Front’ M.M. group of four awarded to Private H. Kynman, 1/5th Yorkshire Light Infantry, who was killed in action fighting on the same front, 23 July 1917

Harold Kynman was a native of Goole, Yorkshire. He served during the Great War with the Yorkshire Light Infantry in the French theatre of war from 13 April 1915. Kynman was awarded his M.M. for gallantry whilst serving with the 1/5th Battalion during a trench raid at Neuve Chapelle, 21/22 June 1917 (Battalion War Diary refers).

Kynman was killed in action on the Western Front, 23 July 1917, and is buried in the Ramscapelle Road Military Cemetery, Nieuwpoort, Belgium.
