Africa Star; Defence Medal (P726 C.J. Smit); War Medal 1939-45; Africa Service Medal; South African Permanent Force L.S. & G.C., G.VI.R. (P726 V./Ser. C.J.V.H. Smit, S.A.L.M.) the fourth with erased naming, the last with edge bruising, otherwise generally very fine (5) £80-100

Sold with copied records which appear to verify the recipient’s entitlement to the above 1939-45 awards, but only after an ongoing dispute with the Air Directorate. He served in North Africa with No. 3 and No. 28 Squadrons from December 1943 to May 1944, and in Italy with the former unit from June to December 1944.
