Three: Air Fitter (W./T.) D. J. Sutch, Fleet Air Arm

1939-45 Star; Burma Star; War Medal 1939-45, in original addressed card forwarding box with Admiralty slip, extremely fine (3) £80-100

Donald Jack Sutch was taken P.O.W. when H.M.S. Hermes was sunk by enemy aircraft in 1942. He was subsequently incarcerated in Kawasaki Camp.

Sold with a quantity of original documentation, including pre-war school reports from Woolwich Polytechnic Junior Technical School; an R.N. Educational Test 1 certificate, dated 11 March 1941; Air Fitter’s History Sheet, with entries for 1940-41; and two B.R.C.S. and O. St. J.J. (P.O.W. Department) letters, dated in January and July 1943, regarding the recipient’s whereabouts.
