General Service 1918-62, 1 clasp, Northern Kurdistan (506863 A.C.1, R.A.F.); 1939-45 Star; Italy Star; Defence & War Medals; Royal Air Force L.S. & G.C., G.VI.R., 1st issue (506863 Sgt., R.A.F.) together with R.A.F. sports medal, silver (Iraq 1933, R.A.F. Hinaidi, Cricket League, Winners A.H.Q.), extremely fine (7) £600-700

Ralph William Skinner was born on 24 May 1907, and enlisted into the Royal Air Force on 1 September 1927. He appears to have been employed throughout as a Clerk on general duties and was qualified to perform code and cypher duties. He re-enlisted in May 1951 and was employed in the Progress Department at the R.A.F. Technical College until his final discharge on 10 September 1959.

The group is sold with his original R.A.F. Certificate of Service, various post cards and photographs, including several from his time in Iraq, Airmen’s Christmas Dinner menu card, R.A.F. Hinaidi 1929, well autographed, and Neptune certificate from H.T.
