Sold with the recipient’s identity disk, original Certificate of Service with envelope, Torpedo History Sheet, Trade Certificate, Certificate for the Educational Test part 1 (1923), ‘King Neptune’ certificates for crossing the Equator (1920) and for crossing the Arctic Circle (1942) and several photographs and postcards.

Reginald George Sharman was born in the Parish of Waterloo, London in 1901. In 1916 he volunteered for service in the Royal Navy, entering as a Boy 2nd Class. From May 1917 until the end of the war he served aboard the battleship H.M.S.
Malaya. In 1931 he transferred to the Royal Fleet Reserve and in 1941 was awarded a R.F.R. war gratuity of £100. Between April 1942 and September 1944 he served aboard the battleship H.M.S. Anson. He was released from the Royal Navy in 1945.
