Four: Bombardier F. Kelly, South African Field Artillery, late 6th south African Infantry and 4th Mounted Rifles

1914-15 Star (Pte., 4th M.R.); British War and Bilingual Victory Medals (Bombr., S.A.F.A.); South Africa Medal for War Service 1939-45, unnamed as issued, mounted as worn, good fine and better (4) £30-40

Fred Kelly was born in Maritzburg, Natal and attested for the 6th South African Infantry in December 1915, aged 20 years. Prior to this he had served with the 4th Mounted Rifles for 41/2 years and had been with them in the 1914-15 campaign in German South West Africa. Discharged on 14.8.1917 he re-attested into the South African Field Artillery the following day. Kelly was discharged from the S.A.F.A. in June 1919. Sold with copied service papers.
