M.I.D. London Gazette 12 January 1916: ‘commended for service in action during operations off the Belgian Coast between 22nd August and 19th November 1915 - Sergeant Arthur Tushaw, R.M.L.I., H.M.S. Lord Clive.’

Medaille Militaire London Gazette 15 September 1916. One of only 28 such awards to the Royal Marines during the Great War.

Arthur Tushaw was born at Spitalfields, London, on 9 October 1882, and enlisted into the Royal Marines on 25 July 1901. After service in Belgium with the Chatham Division of the Royal Marine Brigade, he was embarked aboard H.M.S.
Lord Clive, one of five 12-inch monitors in the Dover Patrol, from 1 September 1915 to 27 May 1917, before returning to the Chatham Division. Sold with copy service record and other research.
