Four: Captain W. H. Tayleur, Army Service Corps, late Rhodesia Regiment

Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 3 clasps, Rhodesia, Relief of Mafeking, Transvaal (Tpr., Rhodesia Regt.); 1914-15 Star (Lieut., A.S.C.); British War and Victory Medals (Capt.) generally good very fine (4) £180-220

William Heathcote Tayleur, who appears to have originally come from the Cheltenham area, served with ‘E’ Squadron, Rhodesia Regiment between March and October 1900, his entitlement to the above described Queen’s Medal and clasps being verified by the regimental roll. Commissioned into the Army Service Corps in the Great War, he first entered the French theatre of war in September 1915.
