The mounted group of five miniature dress medals attributed to Colonel F. J. Byrne, C.M.G., Connaught Rangers, Order of St. Michael & St. George, gold and enamel, straight bar suspension, with gold buckle on ribbon; India General Service 1895-1902, 2 clasps, Punjab Frontier 1897-8, Samana 1897; British War and Victory Medals; Russia, Order of St. Stanislaus, silver-gilt and enamelled both sides, mounted as worn on slightly frayed ribbons, in Goldsmith & Silversmiths, London case, good very fine and better (5) £120-160

Colonel Frederick Joseph Byrne, Connaught Rangers, in the Great War was twice mentioned in despatches, received the brevets of Lieutenant-Colonel and Colonel and was awarded the C.M.G.
