Grenadier Guards a pair of late 19th early 20th century German made field glasses remounted by Callaghan of London in blackened brass with black moroccan covered hand sections, the front plates engraved ‘Major LRF Rowe/Grendr Guards’ complete with neck strap and contained in brown leather case this embossed ‘L.R.F.R./Grendr Guards’ closing strap and top handle present no carrying strap, some damage to one eye piece otherwise good condition £80-100

Lawrence Rowe Fisher-Rowe b 2/10/1866 commissioned Grenadier Guards 14/51887 Lieut 25/31892 Captain 6/7/1898 Brevet Major 29/11/1900 Major 27/4/1906 Lieut Col 20/7/1911, served continually with the regiment 1887-1915, Boer War, QSA6 clasps KSA 2 clasps MID. Was ADC to Governor and CinC Bermuda 1892-1894. WWI commanded 1st Battalion France 28/11/1914, wounded Neuve Chappelle 10/3/1915 died 12/3/1915
