India General Service 1854-95, 1 clasp, Pegu (Patk. Quigley, 18th Royal Irish Regt.) suspension claw refixed, edge bruising and contact marks, good fine £60-80

Patrick Quigley joined the 18th Royal Irish Regiment direct from England in November 1841, being posted to Koolaugoo, and over the next decade or so he served variously in Hong Kong, China and India, and, between April 1852 and June 1853, in Burma. Then in September of the latter year he transferred to the 53rd Foot, with whom he saw further active service in the Indian Mutiny, earning the Medal with clasps for ‘Relief of Lucknow’ and ‘Lucknow’ prior to his death from dysentery on 22 May 1859.
