Waterloo 1815 (William Tweedle, 11th Reg. Light Dragoons) replacement steel clip and ring suspension, contact marks, severe edge and rim bruising, otherwise good fine £600-800

William Tweedle was born in Huddersfield, Yorkshire and enlisted in the 11th Light Dragoons in December 1811, aged 22 years. In his subsequent career of 15 years with the Colours, he was present at Salamanca and at Waterloo, where he served in Captain J. H. Schreiber’s Troop, and on regimental employ in India between July 1819 and October 1826, in which latter month he was discharged at Cawnpore, quite probably following participation in the Bhurtpoor operations.
