Three: Temporary Captain L. B. Biddlecombe, The Gordon Highlanders

Defence and War Medals; General Service 1918-62, 2 clasps, Palestine 1945-48, Malaya (2/Lt., Gordons), together with related dress miniature medals minor contact marks, good very fine or better (6) £80-100

Following service in Palestine, during which period he was advanced to Lieutenant in October 1946, Biddlecombe joined the 1st Battalion in Germany in 1950 and was made O.C. of the 3-inch Mortar Platoon. He subsequently accompanied the Battalion to Malaya, sailing from Liverpool in March 1951, was advanced to Temporary Captain in March 1952 and continued to command the Mortar Platoon until discharged later that year; sold with a photocopied group photograph of Officers of the 1st Battalion taken on the occasion of a visit by H.R.H. The Duke of Gloucester, Biddlecombe among them.
