Four: Private J. Fyfe, The Gordon Highlanders

Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 2 clasps, Laing’s Nek, Belfast (2155 Cpl., Gordon Highrs.); King’s South Africa 1901-02, 2 clasps, South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902 (2155 Pte., Gordon Highrs.); Coronation 1911; Special Reserve L.S. & G.C., E.VII.R. (2155 Pte., 3/Gordon Hdrs.) the first with replacement suspension post and both Boer War awards with contact marks and severe edge bruising, good fine, the others rather better (4) £300-350

John Fyfe served with the 2nd Gordons during the Boer War. Afterwards transferring to the 3rd Battalion, he received his Special Reserve L.S. and G.C. Medal in January 1909, one of just five such awards ever awarded to members of the Gordons. Fyfe also served in the Great War, arriving in France with the 1st Battalion on 27 November 1914, and was afterwards awarded the Silver War Badge.
