Waterloo 1815 (Ensign Ehrig Rackhaus, Detach. 7th Line Bat. K.G.L.) fitted with original steel clip and ring suspension, some contact pitting, otherwise nearly very fine and rare £2000-2500

Ex Gaskell Collection 1908.

Erich Rackhaus joined the Legion in July 1813 and served in the Netherlands in 1814, the campaign of 1815 and the battle of Waterloo. A small detachment only of the 7th Line Battalion was present at Waterloo, comprising 11 officers and 14 other ranks. Ensign Rackhaus was attached to the Landwehr Battalion Hildisheim in Picton’s 6th Division. He was later a Lieutenant on the half pay at Barnstorf amt Diepholz, in Hannover.
