2nd Lancashire Rifle Volunteers (Blackburn) Officer’s Blue Cloth Helmet c. 1880-89, a good quality example, the skull complete with all silver plated fittings, the frontal plate of crowned star pattern with a laurel overlay enclosing a circular strap ‘Lancashire Rifle Volunteers’, in the centre a strung bugle horn with ‘2’ within the strings, the chin chain of ribbed Rifles pattern, buff leather sweat band, crimson silk lining, the plate not original to the helmet, very fine overall condition £400-500
