Army L.S. & G.C., V.R., 3rd issue, small letter reverse (19286. Q.M.Sgt. T. J. Hall. Sch: of Guny.) minor edge nicks, good very fine £80-£100

Thomas Joseph Hall was born in Machraban, Donegal, Ireland. He attested for the Royal Artillery as a Boy at Woolwich, in October 1867. Hall initially served as a Trumpeter, and advanced to Corporal in May 1878. He was promoted Battery Sergeant Major in May 1882, and transferred as Quartermaster Sergeant to the School of Gunnery in October 1883. Hall was awarded the L.S. & G.C. in September 1886, and was discharged, 15 June 1889, having served 21 years with the Colours. In later life he resided at 1 Alma Villas, Topsham Road, Exeter.
